Cottages are the pride of Istebna, a village in Beskid Śląski. The traditional country cottages from the mid-nineteenth century are located next to Jan Kawulok's cottage. Wooden, with shingled roofs, they consist of two rooms and an entrance hall as well as an adjoining patio and gardens. The cottages are surrounded by remarkable mountain scenery – forests, meadows and the Olza river flowing through the village. The area is situated within the borders of the historic Cieszyn Silesia, close to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The total area of the village amounts to 4741ha, whereas the area of the entire commune to 84.25km2. Ustroń, Wisła, Skoczów and Jastrzębie Zdrój are located in close proximity.
The shooting of, among others, Polish TV series “Four Tankmen and a Dog” took place in Istebna.
